Biography Jenni Tan
A significant portion of my profession revolved around the confines of indoor spaces, enclosed by four walls. This dynamic was further emphasized when the pandemic struck in 2019, compelling us to confine our activities even more rigorously indoors. However, my life took a transformative turn when I relocated to Switzerland alongside my partner. This move not only brought about a change in scenery but also opened the door to a plethora of outdoor activities and breathtaking landscapes that ignited a newfound passion within me.
Born in Malaysia in 1985, I am a self-taught artist who now calls Switzerland home. With a background as a professional dancer, I discovered that my love for movement and expression naturally expanded into the realm of visual arts.
My artistic exploration was sparked by my early exposure to fine arts and textiles. I grew up in a household where both my parents had artistic talents. I believe their influence develop and refine my own creativity.
Since 2022, I have wholeheartedly dedicated myself to honing my craft and embarking on a journey of discovery, constantly seeking out new techniques to enhance my artistic expression. Working primarily on large canvases, I employ acrylics as my preferred medium, using a diverse range of brushstrokes and textures to convey my emotions and passion. My artistic style can be classified as expressionist, as I constantly seek to push boundaries and embrace innovation.
